Beekse Bergen unveils 'Light Safari' a magical journey full of light and color

This coming winter, Safaripark Beekse Bergen is organizing an event full of light and color: Light Safari. During the separate evening openings, visitors will walk a special walking route along colorfully illuminated animals, flowers and plants.Light Safari can be visited from Thursday, Dec. 7, through Sunday, Feb. 25.

Special route and winter atmospheres
The colorful walking route has been specially designed. Rens Willemsen, General Manager of Safaripark Beekse Bergen: "The route is divided into different color zones in which you, as a visitor, are taken into a world full of luminous flora and fauna. Different animals are given a luminous likeness and we playfully explain the usefulness of color in nature along the route."

Throughout the period, the park is enveloped in winter atmospheres with cozy lights and warm campfires. There is also a real winter square with an ice skating rink and various food trucks. Willemsen: "It really will be a special winter spectacle."

Collaboration concept and execution
The event is a collaboration between Safaripark Beekse Bergen and Talpa Network. "Together we searched for a way to offer visitors a unique experience this winter and that's how we came up with this concept. The attraction of light on humans plays a central role in this. Beekse Bergen is the source of light in the dark days this winter," Willemsen said.

Tickets

From Thursday, December 7 through Sunday, February 25, the Light Safari can be admired in Safaripark. Beekse Bergen is colorfully illuminated from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. During the Christmas and spring vacations, the event can be visited daily.

Ticket sales begin Monday, Oct. 2, through the Beekse Bergen website: www.beeksebergen.nl/lightsafari. Safaripark is open during the evening hours especially for this event. Light Safari is not included in the regular day admission. However, it is possible to purchase combination tickets through the website. When you stay overnight at Beekse Bergen, Light Safari is included. You can go here by showing your Attractions Pass.
