Beekse Bergen welcomed record number of 1.3 million visitors
Beekse Bergen welcomed a record 1.3 million visitors in 2023. The 2022 record of 1.2 million visitors was thus broken.
Beekse Bergen welcomed its millionth visitor at the end of September. General manager of Safaripark Beekse Bergen Rens Willemsen: "Never before have we welcomed the millionth guest so early in the year. It was therefore fairly soon clear that we would break the record of 2022. We are incredibly grateful that we were able to offer so many guests a beautiful day!"
Safaripark also celebrated its 55th anniversary in 2023 and was also able to welcome a number of special animals in the year of celebration. Willemsen: "Four healthy lion cubs were born for the first time in six years. Extraordinary, because 55 years ago Beekse Bergen began as a Lion Park. In the spring, we shared the news that three elephants were pregnant. The first two calves were born at the end of that year." The third calf could come into the world at any moment.
The figure of 1.3 million visitors includes all overnight guests. In April of 2023, the Safari Hotel opened. Willemsen: "And the first Light Safari took place in December. We wanted this event to be the source of light in the dark days and it worked out well!"
