Festival Brew@theZoo almost sold out
Festival Brew@theZoo in Safaripark Beekse Bergen almost sold out
The second edition of Brew@theZoo is almost sold out. Already 90 percent of tickets have been sold for Saturday, June 24, and Friday, June 23, is also going fast. The number of visitors has doubled compared to last year, the number of brewers, beers and eateries as well. This now makes it one of the largest special beer festivals in the Netherlands.
Brew@theZoo is a collaboration with Swinkels Family Brewers. In 2022 the beer festival among the animals was already a great success, so this year the event will be even bigger: visitors can indulge in over 200 beers from more than 50 top breweries. Part of the proceeds will benefit a conservation project for cheetahs in Botswana - over 6,000 euros have already been raised through ticket sales.
Safaripark will be open for special evening hours from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. these days. Five different plazas scattered throughout the wildlife park will feature the tastiest specialty beers and a wide variety of food.
Beer Boat
In addition, there are various forms of entertainment. Various DJs will perform, there will be live music and a special beer boat with beer sommelier will sail on which you will learn the finer points of beer tasting with an exclusive party. The walking, bus and boat safari are included in the access fee.
Breweries such as De Molen (Bodegraven), Uiltje Brewing Company (Haarlem) and Van Moll Craft Beer (Eindhoven) will be present. Visitors can also sample beers from local breweries, such as Stadsbrouwerij 013 (Tilburg) and De Roos (Hilvarenbeek).
Cheeta Conservation Botswana
For each ticket sold, one euro goes to the charity Cheeta Conservation Botswana. The amount can be supplemented by visitors by donating tokens.
Cheeta Conservation Botswana is committed to protecting the population of cheetahs in Botswana through nature education and collaborations with local farmers. They also do scientific research on this species. It is estimated that less than 7,000 cheetahs live in Africa. About 25 percent of this population lives in Botswana.
Special cooperation
Rens Willemsen, general manager of Safaripark Beekse Bergen: "It is very nice to see that there is so much enthusiasm. With the doubling of the offer of special beers, food points and the expansion of the entertainment and the nice extras of the beer boat, we were of course hoping for this, but it always remains exciting. We are very proud of what we have been able to organize and that specialty beer and animal lovers want to be part of this fantastic and fun beer festival in even larger numbers this year.''
Thijs de Kort, hospitality director at Swinkels Family Brewers: "We are delighted to once again be working with Beekse Bergen and a large number of breweries this year to allow specialty beer lovers to discover even more beer styles and flavors, even doubling last year's total. That this can be done among the wild animals and in doing so also support the charity, makes this collaboration so special."
