Beer festival Brew@theZoo returns to Beekse Bergen for third edition
Brew@theZoo returns to Beekse Bergen for third edition
Brew@theZoo returns to Beekse Bergen this year on June 28 and 29 for its third edition. With over two hundred beers from more than fifty breweries, it is one of the largest special beer events in the Netherlands. The event is once again set up in cooperation with Royal Swinkels. Part of the proceeds will go to Save the Elephants' Northern Corridors Project.
During Brew@theZoo, Safaripark is open for special evening hours from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. Scattered throughout the park are booths from a variety of breweries. They all offer a variety of flavors. On the boat safari, a beer sommelier will explain some of the beers. There are also a variety of food stalls throughout the park. The walking, bus and boat safari are included in the access, the car safari is closed.
Breweries such as De Molen (Bodegraven), Uiltje Brewing Company (Haarlem) and Van Moll Craft Beer (Eindhoven) will be present. Local breweries such as De Blauwe IJsbeer (Tilburg) and Goei Spul (Goirle) will also be represented.
Unique beer event
Rens Willemsen, general manager of Safaripark Beekse Bergen: "Over the past two years, Brew@theZoo has grown into a highly appreciated special beer event. Because of the unique setting, enthusiasts from all over the Netherlands know how to find us and we are very proud of that: with 8,000 visitors last year, we can now consider ourselves one of the largest beer events in the Netherlands. It's also really special, of course: where else can you enjoy two hundred unique beer flavors and more than a hundred animal species at the same time?"
Thijs de Kort, hospitality director at Royal Swinkels: "We are delighted that after two successful editions, we can offer this experience to beer lovers again this year. Two worlds are brought together at this unique location: enjoy the flavors of more than 200 beers amidst the animals in the Beekse Bergen. Special beer drinkers can indulge themselves here and taste the most extraordinary beers, we are proud of that!".
Save the Elephants
For every ticket sold, one euro goes to the Northern Corridors Project of Save the Elephants. The amount can be supplemented by visitors by donating tokens.
The Northern Corridors Project ensures that wildlife parks in Kenya are connected with wildlife corridors; safe passages for wildlife such as elephants. Beekse Bergen aims to fund a connecting route, worth €60,000, this year. The proceeds from Brew@theZoo will contribute to that. Last year, the Cheetah Conservation Botswana took center stage. No less than 9,214 euros was raised for that during the beer event.
