Five cheetah cubs take first steps outside in Safaripark

The five cheetah cubs born in early May at Safaripark Beekse Bergen have left their indoor enclosure for the first time. Under the watchful eye of their mother, they curiously explored the outdoor enclosure.

The cubs, two males and three females, are now five weeks old. Animal keeper Mariska Vermij - Van Dijk says, "The mother was the first to take one of the males outside, then the rest followed pretty quickly. It is beautiful to see how they explore their new environment while still staying close to their mother."

The young cheetahs will be increasingly visible to park visitors from now on. They have the choice whether to go outside. They can be admired along the walking trail.
