Light Safari returns even grander and with new theme at Beekse Bergen
In Safaripark Beekse Bergen, visitors can also go on Light Safari this winter. Along the walking route they will be taken on a magical world trip along thousands of light objects. The event has an entirely new theme.
The second edition of the event, themed "a magical journey around the world," will take place from Nov. 28 to March 9.Wherevisitors enjoy animals during the day along the walking safari, at night they can admire the most diverse light objects depicting the animals and cultures of various parts of the world, from Africa to Oceania. The event is another collaboration between Safaripark Beekse Bergen, Talpa Network and China's ZG Lantern Group, global experts in light sculptures.
General manager Rens Willemsen: "Last year over 185,000 visitors enjoyed Light Safari. This winter event is therefore not to be missed this year. The experience is even greater thanks to the new theme and no fewer than two thousand additional light objects." Energy-efficient LED lighting was chosen and a number of light objects were recycled.
Winter experience for young and old
The winter atmosphere will be reflected throughout Safaripark. Willemsen: "There will be a winter square exclusively for Light Safari visitors. They can enjoy a snack and a drink here and there will be various activities for children. We are also adding an educational element, with a scavenger hunt for animals that people can use to collect stamps for a special passport." The animals spend the evening and nights indoors, but some of the animals' indoor enclosures are accessible, such as the chimpanzees and elephants.
