Light Safari at Safaripark Beekse Bergen welcomes 100,000th visitor
The largest light event in the Benelux 'Light Safari' in Safaripark Beekse Bergen welcomed its 100,000th visitor on Thursday, January 25.
The unsuspecting family was pampered with a safari package containing luminous accessories and an elephant stuffed toy.
The family, who wishes to remain anonymous for private reasons, was greatly looking forward to Light Safari: "We got to the door way too early: Light Safari hadn't started yet. The warm welcome was a really super nice surprise! We enjoyed the magical walking safari!"
General manager of Safaripark Beekse Bergen Rens Willemsen: "It's great to see that the event is such a success! We have worked diligently for months to create the largest light festival in the Benelux. We are proud of this milestone: a crowning of hard work!"
Source of inspiration
In developing Light Safari, the attraction of light to humans was a major source of inspiration. Scattered along a walking route of almost two kilometers are more than three thousand luminous objects in the form of animals, flowers and plants, with a ten-meter-high luminous tree as the showpiece.
There is also a Winter Square with an ice skating rink and several food trucks.
Light Safari will be on display at Beekse Bergen until Sunday, Feb. 25. The Safaripark is colorfully illuminated from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. During spring break, the event can be visited daily.
