New event Light Safari festively opened
Light Safari, the largest light event in the Benelux, festively opened
The Light Safari has been festively opened. During this largest light event in the Benelux, life-size luminous animals take over the park at night after the giraffes, elephants and chimpanzees have returned to their warm stables.
Scattered along a walking route of nearly two kilometers are more than three thousand luminous objects in the form of animals, flowers and plants, with a ten-meter-high luminous tree as the showpiece.
As many as 150 artists worked on the objects for nine weeks in China. Some 31 technicians came with them to the Netherlands. They have been busy here for five weeks to get everything ready in the park.
Colorful
The illuminated walking route, which is divided into different color zones, was specially designed for Beekse Bergen. Visitors along the way are given all kinds of information about the role of colors in nature. "The attraction of light on humans plays a central role in this. Beekse Bergen is the source of light in the dark days this winter," says Rens Willemsen, General Manager of Safaripark Beekse Bergen.
In addition, the park is enveloped in winter atmospheres throughout the period with mood lighting and warm campfires. There is also a winter square with an ice skating rink and various food trucks. Willemsen: "It really is a special winter spectacle, with which we significantly extend the possibilities for a pleasant day out for our visitors."
Collaboration
The event is a collaboration between Safaripark Beekse Bergen and Talpa Network. "Together we searched for a way to offer visitors a unique experience this winter and that's how we came up with this concept," Willemsen said.
Until Sunday, February 25, the Light Safari can be admired in Safaripark. Beekse Bergen is colorfully illuminated from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. During the Christmas and spring vacations, the event can be visited daily.
Tickets
Safaripark is open during the evening hours especially for this event. Light Safari is not included in the regular day admission. However, it is possible to purchase combination tickets through the website. Tickets can be purchased at www.beeksebergen.nl/lightsafari.
