Safari Hotel Beekse Bergen officially opened

Safari Hotel officially opened during festive ceremony

The new Safari Hotel in Beekse Bergen was officially opened Friday. Mayor Evert Weys of Hilvarenbeek and Stijn Smeulders, deputy of the province of North Brabant performed the official opening.

The hotel is not a large building, but consists of fifteen one-story accommodations. The total of 112 rooms and suites are all situated around a savannah on which giraffes, zebras, rhinos, Ostriches and water cattle roam. Breakfast and dinner can be enjoyed in the Hogon House, also located on the Wogon Savannahs, which includes two restaurants.

Expanding capabilities
The opening took place a year after construction began - and almost five years after the opening of the Safari Resort, the first holiday park in Beekse Bergen where guests can stay overnight on a savannah.

With the hotel, Beekse Bergen is expanding its accommodation options. Stephanie Struis, general manager of the Safari Resort: "Research has shown that guests would like the opportunity to stay with us for a shorter period, for example one or two nights."

In addition, according to Struis, there is a great demand for relief. "We therefore offer them a luxury hotel room here, equipped with all conveniences and where guests can join us for breakfast and dinner."

Dogon
The architecture and interior of the Safari Hotel is inspired by the Dogon people. This population group from Mali lives in very distinctive houses, built from yellow stone and clay and fitted with round, thatched roofs.
