Safaripark Beekse Bergen for a Smoke-Free Generation

Safaripark Beekse Bergen for a Smoke-Free Generation

Safaripark Beekse Bergen will be smoke-free as of Monday, May 1, 2023. From then on, smoking tobacco, vapes and e-cigarettes will only be allowed in two specially designated, out-of-sight smoking zones. It means that the terraces in Safaripark will also be smoke-free. Safaripark Beekse Bergen is joining forces with Smoke-Free Generation, an initiative of the KWF, Heart Foundation and Lung Fund.

General manager Rens Willemsen: "Safaripark wants to contribute to a Smoke-Free Generation. A smoke-free park protects visitors and animals from the harmful effects of second-hand smoke, because health and safety is paramount!"

Those who still want to smoke can visit one of the two smoking areas. These locations are screened off so that visitors are not exposed to smoking. Visitors who still light up a cigarette elsewhere in the park will be addressed and referred to the nearest smoking area.

The smoking areas can be found in two places in the park: Safari Square (the square after the entrance) and Congo Square (near the release area with the Ring-tailed lemurs).
