What happened?
On Wednesday morning, June 16, a fire broke out in the central building of Lake Resort Beekse Bergen.
What are the consequences of the fire at Lake Resort Beekse Bergen?
Demolition work is now taking place for the purpose of extinguishing the fire, so that the reconstruction of the central building can be started later.
Were there any injuries and was there any danger to the guests present at the Lake Resort?
No, the guests have never been in danger. In addition, no resources were released, which meant that additional measures had to be taken. No evacuation was necessary.
Are Safari Park Beekse Bergen and Speelland open?
Yes, the Safari Park and Speelland are open as usual.
Have the animals of the safari park been affected by the fire?
No, the animals were not affected by the fire. Some animal species have been brought to their indoor enclosure as a precaution.
Which facilities are currently not available at the Lake Resort?
The Africa Club housed a restaurant, bar, swimming pool and supermarket. The aim is to arrange a temporary solution for this as soon as possible.
A tapas restaurant has been set up at Event Center Beekse Bergen where you can enjoy the tastiest tapas. From Monday to Thursday it is possible to make a reservation between 17:00 and 18:00. From your start time you can enjoy the most delicious tapas for 2 hours. We work with fixed times from Friday to Sunday. You can make a reservation for 16:30 to 18:30 or from 19:00 to 21:00.
Reservations can be made via the Beekse Bergen app or via +31683151997. The Event Center is a 20 minute walk or 5 minute drive from Afrika Club. You can park for free in the shared parking lot of Speelland and Event Center.
In addition, guests of Lake Resort Beekse Bergen can temporarily use the facilities at Safari Resort Beekse Bergen, as far as capacity allows in connection with the RIVM guidelines. We ask for your understanding here. Guests of the Lake Resort can also go to the Safari Resort Market for food and care products.
Will there still be catering?
Yes, from Thursday 17 June there will be various facilities. A tapas restaurant has been set up at Event Center Beekse Bergen where you can enjoy the tastiest tapas. From Monday to Thursday it is possible to make a reservation between 17:00 and 18:00. From your start time you can enjoy the most delicious tapas for 2 hours. There will be a temporary solution for the store as soon as possible. In the meantime, guests of the Lake Resort can visit the shop at the Safari Resort.
Is it possible to cancel my booking?
If you want to cancel the reservation, the regular cancellation and reservation conditions apply.
Can my stay at Safari Resort Beekse Bergen continue?
Safari Resort Beekse Bergen is located next to Lake Resort Beekse Bergen, these are two different parks, each with its own facilities. There has been no fire at Safari Resort Beekse Bergen, so there will be no consequences for your stay and you can use all facilities. Can I swim in Lake Victoria at the Lake Resort?
Yes, a positive swimming advice applies to both Lake Resort Beekse Bergen and Speelland Beekse Bergen. You can swim safely there.
Is there an alternative to the indoor pool?
We are pleased to inform you that as an alternative to the swimming pool, you can go swimming once during your stay at Laco Goirle (outdoor swimming pool with slide) or Laco Hilvarenbeek (indoor swimming pool). You will receive a voucher for this at the reception during check-in. You do not need to make a reservation for these two pools. From 5 July you can also use Recreatiebad Stappegoor in Tilburg, for this you need to make an online reservation with them. All opening times can be found on the relevant websites of the swimming pools. In addition, you can of course also enjoy unlimited swimming fun at the beach of Speelland Beekse Bergen!
What is the status of the facility such as electricity, water, etc.?
Utilities (electricity, water and gas) and cable/internet have already been resolved. If you unexpectedly encounter problems with this, you can report this to the reception of Lake Resort Beekse Bergen.
